Silent Auction & Book Sale

Silent Auction

Live and in-person, you’ll find the Silent Auction in the upstairs lobby of the Broadway Performance Hall just outside the auditorium (where the lectures take place).  Viewing and bidding begin when the doors open in the morning and will run throughout the day.

New or used tools, stones, equipment, materials, display items, finished jewelry and various jewelry-related objects— even a spot in a class or workshop or maybe a private lesson— you never know what you’ll find on the tables of the Silent Auction. There may even be a piece or two donated by our presenters.

The Silent Auction is one of the main fundraising events for the Seattle Metals Guild, helping us fund artists grants, events and, of course, the Annual Northwest Jewelry & Metals Symposium. Whether donating or bidding, the Silent Auction is a great way to find something that you didn’t know you needed and to support the Seattle Metals Guild at the same time. To donate something ( from goods to services), please contact auction@seattlemetalsguild.org.

Book Sale

Along with the Silent Auction—and running at the same time and location—Charon Kransen’s Book Sale has become a much anticipated part of Symposium Day. Whether you casually flip through or spend a few minutes really digging in, there’s something about holding a book in your hand that’s good for the soul. Rare and hard to find books, beautiful books, books that inspire and books that delight and inform: when you open the cover of a book you’re opening a door onto something new. It’s all waiting for you at the Book Sale. And Charon himself will be there to answer your textual questions.
